In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, the installation of over 40,700 kilometers of SIP cable is planned. This information was provided by the Bishkek Electric Networks Enterprise.
According to their data, the city will begin phased preparations of the power grid for the winter season of 2026–2027. This year, work on the installation and reconstruction of SIP cable will take place from March to November and will cover important sections of the power grid.
The work will be conducted in the following areas:
- Eastern RES — 4.5 km
- Western RES — 21,420 km
- Northern RES — 19,272 km
As part of this project, the following is planned:
- updating old power transmission lines
- replacing outdated wires with modern insulated SIP
- installing new poles and strengthening existing structures
- connecting new consumers and developing networks in residential areas
- reducing the load on existing lines
- decreasing technological losses of electricity

The implementation of this project will improve the quality and stability of electricity supply, significantly reduce the number of emergency situations in the networks, decrease electricity losses during transmission, and ensure the reliable operation of the energy system in the winter period, as well as create opportunities for connecting new consumers.
The ongoing work will significantly increase the capacity of the power grid, reduce the level of accidents, decrease electricity losses, and provide consumers with reliable and quality electricity supply during peak loads of the autumn-winter season.
Funding for all activities will be carried out from the own funds of JSC "NESC".
