Every year, only 1 percent of the water supply networks are replaced in Bishkek.
According to information presented at a meeting of the permanent commission of the Bishkek City Council, only 20 kilometers of water supply networks are being updated in the capital each year, which accounts for just 1% of the total volume. This was reported by Chyngyz Jumaliev, the head of the municipal enterprise "Bishkekvodokanal." He noted that the cost of cold water according to meters is 10.45 soms per cubic meter, while half a liter of soda will cost 150 soms.
