- At the meeting of the Bishkek City Council on December 23, Deputy Kazybek Ergeshov from the "Yntymak" faction proposed not to make decisions on the transfer of municipal property without prior thorough analysis and discussion.

He noted that recently the city has been facing asset losses, resulting in no economic benefits.

“We are increasingly transferring land plots and premises, effectively freeing state property, and receiving nothing in return. It is important that all transferred property is used for its intended purpose,” Ergeshov emphasized.

The deputy reported that some properties that previously belonged to the city are now passing into private hands through public-private partnership mechanisms.

“Many land plots that were state-owned during the Soviet era are becoming private due to PPP. Therefore, we need to protect the city’s assets,” he noted.

Ergeshov also linked this situation to the decrease in the city budget's revenues.

“Currently, proposals to reduce budget plans are already being discussed. Why? Because there is not enough revenue. We no longer have those assets that used to generate income for the city budget,” he added.

In this regard, the deputy called for the necessity of discussing property transfer issues before making decisions.

He emphasized that the city should receive reciprocal benefits from such transactions.

“It is important that all these processes occur peacefully and in a way that the city receives something in return. In recent years, the city’s assets have significantly decreased, and we must take this into account,” the deputy concluded.
