As noted by Alexandra Solovyova, the permanent representative of UNDP, the issue of biodiversity conservation has become particularly relevant. She highlighted several key areas that should be focused on in Kyrgyzstan.

According to her, climate change negatively impacts the mountain ecosystems of the country, which, in turn, threatens rare species, including the snow leopard. In this regard, the development of a biodiversity program aimed at 2040 and comprehensive measures from the government illustrate how cooperation between the state, the scientific community, and the private sector can contribute to sustainable development and the rational use of natural resources.

She also added: "The UN Development Program in Kyrgyzstan is a reliable long-term partner for the government and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision. We actively support various initiatives and comprehensive actions, including the preparation of the nationally determined contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transparency reports in the field of climate protection."

Solovyova emphasized that such a strategic initiative requires comprehensive measures aimed not only at reducing emissions but also at adapting to the already occurring climate changes that affect all sectors of the country's economy.
