Doctor of Philological Sciences (1964), Professor (1967), Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR (1979), Laureate of the State Prizes of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of science and technology (1984, 1998)
Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Cholpon, Ak-Suu District, Issyk-Kul Region.
Graduated from the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute (1945), postgraduate studies at the Kyrgyz Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1951).
Worked as a junior and senior research fellow at the Institute of Language and Literature of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Deputy Director, Director, Head of the Sector at the Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR, Chief Editor of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia, member of the Presidium, and since 1997 - Advisor to the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Specialist in the field of Turkology and Kyrgyz linguistics.
Academician of the Linguistic Society "Turk Kuruumu" (2000).
Awarded medals of the USSR, Honorary Certificates of the Supreme Council of the Kirghiz SSR (3), the "Datsk" medal, and the highest order of the Republic of Turkey for foreigners "Sign of Dignity" (1998). Honored Worker of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (1996).
Published more than 250 scientific works, including 25 monographs, 37 textbooks, and dictionaries.
Under her supervision, 4 doctoral and 15 candidate dissertations have been defended.
