Jumgaltau Ridge
Jumgaltau
A mountain range in the northern part of the Tien Shan, in Kyrgyzstan. The ridge extends in a sublatitudinal direction for more than 100 km. Width 15 km. Average height (above sea level) 3800 m. Maximum height (above sea level) – 4281 m, peak - Min Teke. To the west, it is separated from the Susamyrtau ridge by the gorge of the Kökömeren River. Jumgaltau is composed of tuffaceous sandstones, limestone-mica schists, and granites. On the slopes, there are meadows with juniper shrubs, meadow steppes with bushes, areas of juniper forests, and spruce forests.
