The Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev participated in a ministerial roundtable held as part of the World Government Summit in Dubai.

In his speech, Torobaev noted that the world is facing numerous systemic challenges, including climate change, water resource shortages, food issues, and social difficulties. In such conditions, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals requires a shift towards comprehensive and long-term risk management.

Particular attention at the meeting was given to the issue of water resource shortages in the context of climate change.

“As a mountainous country that is the source of rivers in Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan bears special responsibility for preserving sustainable water ecosystems in the region and actively discusses water security issues on international platforms,” he emphasized in his speech.
