Over 1 billion 176 million dollars has been received in the country's budget
At a republican meeting, President Sadyr Japarov announced that from 2021 to 2025, the total income from 'Kumtor' will amount to 5 billion 115 million dollars.
He emphasized that the return of 'Kumtor' to state ownership was a significant step towards strengthening Kyrgyzstan's economic independence.
According to his statement, during this period, over 1 billion 176 million dollars has been received in the form of taxes and mandatory payments to the budget. Additionally, over the past four years, the republic has received dividends amounting to 441 million dollars, which is equivalent to more than 38 billion soms.
Sadyr Japarov also noted that from 1994 to 2021, Kyrgyzstan received only about 100 million dollars in dividends from 'Kumtor'.
"Previously, 410 tons of gold were exported, and only 1 ton of it benefited our country. Now, 'Kumtor' has become a reliable source of budget revenues, allowing us to finance social obligations and infrastructure projects," the President added.
