According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, price fluctuations for eggs in the country are a common occurrence.
The agency noted that this phenomenon is cyclical and is caused by a number of factors, including seasonality, the consequences of overproduction, and the renewal of livestock. Kyrgyzstan, in general, is capable of providing itself with eggs at 80%.
In retail, the price of eggs has reached 16-18 soms per piece, while wholesale prices range from 10 to 12 soms. The reasons for the price increase, according to sellers, are varied: from the influence of external factors and inflation to a decrease in supply volumes.
