Kyrgyzstan Strengthens Veterinary and Sanitary Control. Who and What Will Be Affected by the Tightening Measures

In order to prevent the spread and introduction of infectious diseases among animals in Kyrgyzstan, new veterinary and sanitary control measures are being implemented. This information was provided by the Department for the Control of Epizootics of the Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Regional Development of the KR.

These initiatives are being carried out in accordance with the requirements of Section 2 "Risk Analysis" and Subsection 2.1 "Risk Analysis for Import" of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Terrestrial Animal Health Code, as well as in accordance with Article 13 of the KR Law "On Veterinary Medicine," which aims to protect the veterinary and sanitary condition of the country.

According to the department, these measures are aimed at ensuring epizootic well-being, enhancing the level of veterinary and biological safety, protecting public health, and maintaining food security in the KR. The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Regional Development urges both citizens and entrepreneurs to strictly adhere to veterinary legislation and comply with veterinary and sanitary standards.
