A large batch of onions was returned from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan

At the checkpoint "Ak-Tilek," located in the Chui region, on March 29, 2026, employees of the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan discovered violations during the import of agricultural products. The press service of the department reported this incident.

During the quarantine phytosanitary control, it was established that 25 tons of onions imported from Kazakhstan lacked the necessary labeling on the packaging.

According to the requirements of the Eurasian Economic Commission, as recorded in decision No. 157 dated November 30, 2016, each package of quarantine products must contain information about the name of the product, the country of origin, as well as the exporting or re-exporting country.

The absence of this information violates the unified quarantine phytosanitary standards in effect within the Eurasian Economic Union.

As a result of the identified violations, the cargo was returned to the sender.
