The head of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan proposes to ban the sale of alcohol from 10 PM to 10 AM

Erkin Checheybaev insists on the need to ban the sale of alcohol at night to reduce crime rates.

The minister also emphasized that many offenses, including domestic violence, traffic accidents, and hooliganism, occur at night, especially under the influence of alcohol. In this regard, Checheybaev proposes to impose restrictions on the sale of alcoholic beverages from 10 PM to 10 AM.

“It is possible to consider allowing the sale of alcohol at night only in restaurants and at high prices. It is also necessary to reduce the number of points where alcohol and cigarettes are sold,” the minister added, pointing out the inadmissibility of selling such goods in grocery stores and kiosks.

As an example, Erkin Checheybaev cited several countries, such as those in Europe, South Korea, Japan, and the USA, where there are stricter regulations regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.
“As a result, the residents of these countries live longer,” the minister concluded.
