Moreover, in a number of articles, the words of Minister Erkin Cheichebaev were taken out of context. The issue of closing pharmacies was not raised as an intention in the interview. The main topic of discussion was serious problems recognized by the global community: high personal expenses on medications, the prevalence of self-medication, and uncontrolled use of antibiotics without medical advice. This is emphasized by the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.

The minister noted that it is necessary to develop modern approaches to regulating the circulation of medicines, such as prescription sales, quality control of drugs, limiting aggressive advertising, and creating conditions that will prevent unjustified consumption of medications. These measures are implemented in many countries and are aimed at protecting public health, as well as preventing the rise of antibiotic resistance, recognized by WHO as one of the main threats to global health.

Any changes in this area will be made gradually and thoughtfully, taking into account the opinions of experts, the pharmaceutical community, and the interests of citizens. The proposed measures are not aimed at restricting access to necessary medications, but at organizing the market and enhancing patient safety.

The Ministry of Health will continue an open dialogue with the professional community, the pharmaceutical industry, and the public to ensure a balance between the availability of medicines, the safety of citizens, and international standards for the rational use of medications.
