In Kyrgyzstan, according to information from the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, the construction of an additional 40 trade and logistics centers is planned by 2030 to increase the export potential of agricultural products. This was reported by the agency “Kabar”.
Currently, there are 40 trade and logistics centers operating in the country, and this year the opening of eight more is planned.

The main development directions outlined in the program include:
— increasing the capacity of railways to achieve a cargo turnover of 15 million tons per year;
— developing warehouse and logistics infrastructure, including the construction of at least 1 million square meters of new facilities;
— reconstructing and repairing at least half of the republican highways;
— increasing the contribution of the transport sector to GDP to 1.5 billion USD;
— increasing air transport volumes to 7 million passengers and 45 thousand tons of cargo per year.

Last year, Kyrgyzstan had 40 trade and logistics centers that contribute to the development of the country's export potential. Additionally, more than 30,000 Kyrgyz sellers registered on various marketplaces, which is three times higher than the figures for 2022.

“Effective and inexpensive cargo delivery is the key to competitiveness in both domestic and international markets. Kyrgyzstan is actively developing this area. One significant project is the transcontinental railway that will connect major transport systems and provide the country with access to the sea. This was previously impossible, so the steps taken by the government play an important role in economic development,” he noted.To increase transit volumes through the country's territory, work is underway on the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, as well as the reconstruction and construction of internal roads.
During the Nowruz celebration in the Naryn region, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, noted that the implementation of this project will significantly enhance the economic and logistical potential of the country.

“The completion of the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will create new transit opportunities and enhance the international significance of the country. This will open new prospects not only for the Naryn region but for all of Kyrgyzstan. Delivery times for goods will be reduced, and there will be broad opportunities to enter new markets. We will transform from a country with limited opportunities into a transit country. The project is expected to be completed by 2030,” the president stated.It should be noted that almost all trade and logistics centers are equipped with warehouses and specialized facilities for storing and cooling products and raw materials. In these centers, packaging, labeling, certification, and transportation of agricultural products are carried out.
Doctor of Economic Sciences Tolenbek Abdyrov emphasized that logistics centers in Kyrgyzstan must meet international standards and the requirements of the EAEU.

“The presence of trade and logistics centers is a positive aspect. The development of trade stimulates production, agriculture, and product processing. Given the construction of the railway, it is expected to transport from 7.5 to 13 million tons of cargo, which requires a developed storage system. Logistics centers play a key role in the transshipment and distribution of goods. Within the EAEU, there are about 53 regulations defining requirements for storage and equipment, which is especially important for agricultural products, allowing them to be preserved and sold at more favorable prices,” concluded the expert.
