The maternity ward has opened at the Osh Interregional Hospital after major renovations.

The opening of the maternity hospital took place at the Osh Interregional United Clinical Hospital after the completion of major renovations, reports the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.

High-ranking officials attended the ceremony, including First Deputy Minister of Health Aibek Matkerimov, the Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Osh Region Aman Kenjebayev, Deputy Mayor of the city Nurlan Zakirov, and Chairman of the Osh City Council Bolot Bayetov, as well as the hospital's medical staff.

The director of the institution, Atabek Jumaliev, emphasized that the building of the maternity hospital was constructed in 1968 and had not undergone major renovations since then.

According to Aibek Matkerimov, in accordance with the national initiative "Healthy Person - Developed Country," the protection of the health of mothers and children remains a key priority until 2030.

The renovation work took place from June 2025 to January 2026 and covered all departments of the maternity hospital, including the intensive care unit, delivery and reception departments, the pathology department for pregnant women, operating rooms, and the clinical laboratory. As part of the upgrade, a centralized oxygen station was installed, and the operating rooms and wards were modernized, along with the engineering networks, roofing, and facade of the building.

Additionally, a waiting room for patients' relatives was created. Sponsors provided 3.8 million soms for the installation of an elevator.

The total budget for the major renovation amounted to 87 million soms.

Every year, 9-10 thousand women give birth in this hospital, and about 20 thousand pregnant women receive necessary treatment.
