A biological brother became a donor for a 44-year-old patient who received a kidney transplant.
Today, a new free kidney transplant was performed at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health (NCMCH). The press service of the Ministry of Health reported this event.
The operation was conducted on a 44-year-old patient, who was born in 1981 and had been on long-term hemodialysis since 2018.
The donor was his brother, born in 1978. Both patients are feeling well and are under the supervision of medical staff.
Kidney transplants at NCMCH have been carried out since 2018.
Since the start of the program in 2018, a total of 81 operations have been performed at NCMCH, of which 38 were conducted on a budgetary basis.
