President Edgars Rinkēvičs invited the President of Mongolia to visit Latvia

On December 18, 2025, the Ambassador of Mongolia, Oyundari Navaan-Yunden, presented her credentials to Edgars Rinkēvičs.


During the ceremony, the ambassador conveyed greetings from the President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhna, emphasizing the desire to develop bilateral relations in various areas, including politics, trade, information technology, and organizing high-level visits.

In response to the greetings, Edgars Rinkēvičs expressed his wish to see the President of Mongolia in Latvia at a convenient time for him.


Additionally, the president congratulated Oyundari on her new appointment and wished her success, assuring her of support in strengthening ties between the two countries.

After the ceremony, the Deputy Secretary of State of Latvia, Ivārs Lācis, also met with the new Ambassador of Mongolia.

On December 18, 2025, Ivārs Lācis held a meeting with the new Ambassador of Mongolia, who arrived in Latvia for accreditation.


During the meeting with Oyundari Navaan-Yunden, Ivārs Lācis expressed Latvia's interest in deepening bilateral relations in the fields of information and communication technologies and ecology.

Latvia, with its significant experience in forestry, can become an important partner in implementing Mongolia's initiative for reforestation, which aims to plant billions of trees by 2030.

Ambassador Oyundari emphasized that the Mongolian government is actively working on issues of gender equality and women's rights, as well as aiming for cooperation with Latvia within the framework of the UN.

Both countries also participate in UN peacekeeping operations, and further cooperation will be aimed at maintaining peace and security in the international order.
