The President of Ukraine noted that currently, the option of providing security guarantees for 15 years with the possibility of extension is being considered.
“I told him that the war has been going on for almost 15 years. Therefore, it would be preferable for the guarantees to be longer. I suggested considering the possibility of 30, 40, or even 50 years. This could become a historic decision by President Trump. He replied that he would think about it,” Zelensky stated.
On December 28, Zelensky and Trump met in Florida. Following their discussions, the President of Ukraine reported that the peace plan is agreed upon by 90%, and the security guarantees from the U.S. are at 100%. However, the details of these guarantees have not yet been disclosed. Both leaders also noted that the issue of the status of the Donbas regions remains unresolved.
