Members of the extremist 'Hizb ut-Tahrir' detained in Batken region

In the Batken region, members of the organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir" were detained in a case related to religious extremism. This was reported by the press center of the State National Security Committee (GKNB).

According to the provided information, a criminal case was opened under Article 331 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning the creation and financing of extremist organizations. Some of the detainees had previously encountered legal issues for similar activities.

As a result of operational actions, more than ten individuals living in the village of Uch-Korgon in the Kadamjai district and the city of Kyzyl-Kiya were detained. The detainees had access to prohibited extremist literature, participated in closed Telegram channels of "Hizb ut-Tahrir," discussed plans for establishing a caliphate in Kyrgyzstan, and actively promoted extremist ideology.

During searches at the homes of the detainees, prohibited literature from "Hizb ut-Tahrir" was found, as well as electronic devices, including laptops, flash drives, mobile phones, and hard drives.
