According to the investigation, the man responsible for the preservation of the collections had been removing items for a long time, mainly porcelain from the Sèvres manufactory, which is part of the national heritage. The detainees attempted to sell the stolen items through online platforms.

The theft was discovered thanks to the attention of experts from the manufactory, who noticed unique pieces online. During searches, around 100 items were found and returned to the palace from the suspects, including Sèvres porcelain, Baccarat crystal, and Lalique works.

Those involved in this case face imprisonment for up to 10 years. The court hearing is scheduled for February 26, 2026.
