In Bishkek, a suspect in the theft of groceries from a hypermarket has been detained.

In the Sverdlovsk District Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek, a statement was received from a representative of one of the hypermarkets, A. Y., who reported a theft that occurred on January 12, 2026. According to him, on that day at around 10:50, an unknown man stole products worth 12,000 soms and fled the scene.

Based on this statement, the investigative authorities initiated a criminal case under Article 205 "Theft" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As a result of operational activities, the suspect was identified as R. M., born in 2005. He was taken to the investigative service of the Sverdlovsk District Department of Internal Affairs and then placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Department of Internal Affairs in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Law enforcement agencies also reported that the detainee may be involved in other similar offenses. The investigation is ongoing.
