A resident of the capital contacted the police, claiming that her wallet was stolen from her bag on minibus No. 161, which contained 595,000 soms, 400 dollars, and jewelry worth 100,000 soms.
The case was registered under Article 205 ("Theft") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Employees of the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime of Bishkek detained two suspects at the Sary-Özön market. These are men, previously convicted, born in 1985: Sh.M. and Zh.A. The Lenin District Court ordered their detention in pre-trial detention center No. 1.
During a search of the Daewoo Nexia vehicle, stolen jewelry was found. The investigation established that the detainees arrived in this car on the day of the crime around 09:10 AM, parked it on Saltikov Street, and boarded minibus No. 161 heading to the Dordoy market. They noticed the victim among the passengers and, based on her appearance, assumed that she worked at the market. After committing the theft, the suspects took a taxi to the location where they left their car, paying 1,000 soms for the ride — this was the amount from which the money was stolen.
Law enforcement agencies do not rule out that the detainees may be involved in similar crimes. In this regard, the police urge anyone who has been a victim of these individuals or has any information to contact the following numbers: 0 (509) 26-26-69, 0 (702) 07-12-63, and 102.
