
In the Chui region, law enforcement agencies have detained a suspect who failed to pay wages to workers involved in the construction of a small hydropower plant. The investigation revealed that G.A., born in 1993, hired local residents to carry out concrete work at the facilities of the company A.G.E. However, about 25 workers were left unpaid for the work performed in November and early December 2025.
According to information from the agency, G.A. began conducting concrete work in October 2024 based on a verbal agreement as a subcontractor. To carry out his activities, he registered an individual entrepreneur in the name of his wife E.K., issuing a power of attorney. Approximately one hundred local residents performed the work, with a promised payment of 200 soms per hour.
During the investigation, it was established that during the specified period, 7,200 cubic meters of concrete work were completed, as well as other construction activities. The total amount received by G.A. from the company A.G.E. amounted to 43,446,878 soms, of which 3,115,000 soms were paid as taxes.
A criminal case has been initiated on this fact under Article 209 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
