Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the brother of King Charles III, has been arrested in the United Kingdom. His detention is linked to suspicions of abuse of power due to his previous connections with Jeffrey Epstein, which have already led to him losing all titles. According to the Russian service of the BBC, the arrest took place on February 19.

On the morning of that day, police vehicles arrived at the royal estate of Sandringham, located in Norfolk. The official statement from law enforcement did not mention the name of the detainee; however, they later confirmed that a man in his sixties was arrested on suspicion of abuse of power. The agency also reported conducting searches in Norfolk and Berkshire.

Allegations Against Andrew

Police noted that they are considering a complaint stating that Andrew may have provided Epstein with confidential information. Data disclosed in the U.S. indicates that he transmitted materials, including reports of his trips to Singapore, Hong Kong, and Vietnam, as well as details of potential investment opportunities. Following this, the anti-monarchist group Republic contacted the Thames Valley police, requesting an investigation into the alleged violations.

The 66-year-old Andrew has repeatedly denied all allegations and claims that he has done nothing illegal. Nevertheless, in October 2025, the king stripped him of the title of prince and all other titles, and shortly before that, Andrew himself renounced the title of Duke of York.

Public opinion in the UK is increasingly demanding that Andrew testify in the U.S. regarding his connection with the convicted pedophile Epstein.
