These actions divert resources and efforts of law enforcement agencies and other services from fulfilling their primary functions, which in turn harms the state budget, emphasizes the state committee.
A false report of a terrorist act is considered a threat to public safety. Such actions disrupt the normal order of life, paralyze the work of institutions and organizations, and also force the evacuation of people, notes the GKNB.
“Often, schools, shopping, and entertainment centers become victims of such crimes. It is important to understand that a crime is considered completed from the moment a false report of a terrorist act is received, and serious responsibility is provided for this, up to imprisonment. The Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic in Article 259 ‘Knowingly False Report of an Act of Terrorism’ establishes criminal liability for these actions,” reports the GKNB.
If the mentioned illegal actions are committed by minors, their parents are held responsible for their children's actions.
In this regard, the GKNB urges parents to conduct explanatory work with their children and monitor their behavior. Adult citizens are also advised to refrain from actions that may harm society or the state for personal or others' interests,” the GKNB statement emphasizes.
