He is accused of organizing "mass riots"
The First May District Court of Bishkek sentenced Ernist Zheentaev on February 13, who, being a 41-year-old designer and layout artist, received a six-year prison sentence. This information was reported by Azattyk, citing lawyer Nurbek Sydykov.
Zheentaev was detained on November 10, 2025, as a result of his publications on his Facebook page.
A criminal case was initiated against him under part 3 of article 278, concerning "mass riots," as well as under article 332, related to "possession of extremist materials" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
A forensic linguistic examination conducted on the case materials confirmed the presence of calls for mass riots in his publications.
Currently, Zheentaev is in custody at the Bishkek pre-trial detention center.
The lawyer plans to appeal the court's decision in the city court after receiving the full text of the verdict.
It should be noted that Ernist Zheentaev has worked for many years as a designer and layout artist in independent publications in Bishkek.
