Citizens are actively discussing false information on social media
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has refuted rumors about the introduction of restrictions on communication with certain groups of citizens. The press service of the ministry made this statement in response to messages circulating on social media.
“The information appearing in messengers and social networks about the need to avoid contact with certain categories of people, as well as about allegedly operating criminal groups posing as utility workers, is false and does not correspond to reality,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized.
The ministry also noted that no such statements had been made and urged citizens to remain calm, referring only to official sources of information.
“It is important to remember that the dissemination of unverified information may entail legal responsibility in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic,” the ministry added.
Citizens were strongly advised not to forward this information and to rely solely on official messages from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
