At the meeting of the permanent commission of the Bishkek City Council on housing and communal services, the head of the municipal enterprise "Tazalyk," Zholdoshbek Chushtukov, reported that Kyrgyz citizens are not showing a willingness to work as garbage loaders, even if the salary is 90,000 soms.

According to Chushtukov, the situation with staff recruitment becomes critical, especially during the summer period — although garbage trucks are present, there is a shortage of both drivers and loaders.

“We were forced, as part of an experiment, to hire 10 loaders from Pakistan due to a staff shortage. Next year, we plan to increase the number of immigrant workers to 50-100 people. We are actively posting job vacancies on social media, as well as making announcements on television and radio at major retail locations. The average salary is 40-45 thousand soms, but some workers who handle large volumes of garbage earn up to 80-90 thousand soms. However, even such pay does not attract local residents to this specific job,” he noted.

The meeting also discussed the issue of demolishing container sites in the private sector. Deputy Rysbay Amatov pointed out the problem that garbage bags left out for collection are scattered around due to wind or animals. He suggested creating at least one site for every 500-1000 meters.

“In those areas where container sites are absent and door-to-door collection is organized, the order is significantly better. The main thing is to instill a sense of responsibility in citizens for storing garbage and its timely disposal. We cannot guarantee an exact time for collection due to traffic jams and technical problems,” Chushtukov added.

Don't forget that containers for the private sector can be purchased from the municipal enterprise "Tazalyk" in installments.
