Starting from 2026, the postal service of Denmark will cease the delivery of paper letters. The last delivery of such a letter will take place at the end of December, as reported by DW.

Additionally, next year, the remaining mailboxes across the country are set to be dismantled.

Since 2000, the volume of mail shipments in the country has decreased by almost 90%. The Danish postal service NordPost plans to focus on parcel delivery to compete with other companies in the domestic market. If necessary, sending a paper letter or postcard will only be possible through third-party organizations.

Thus, Denmark has become the first European country to make such a decision.
