A recent meeting took place in Osh, where issues related to licensing for drivers engaged in passenger transportation, as well as for businesses that have opened taxi fleets, were discussed. The event provided clarifications regarding the requirements of the law "On Licensing and the Permitting System of the Kyrgyz Republic," which was developed in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 548 issued in 2021.
During the discussion, it was announced that the deadline for mandatory licensing for individuals and legal entities engaged in passenger transportation in cars has been postponed. Previously, the deadline was set for December 1, 2025, but it has now been moved to February 1, 2026.
It is important to note that every driver providing passenger transportation services, regardless of whether they work in a taxi or use a personal vehicle, must obtain the appropriate license.
Meeting participants were warned about the necessity to obtain licenses within the established deadlines.
