The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has suspended the activities of 263 private clinics
In order to enhance control over the quality of medical services and compliance with legal norms in the field of licensing, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has initiated large-scale inspections of private medical and pharmaceutical institutions. These measures are a result of the requirements of the country's laws, such as "On the Licensing and Permitting System" and "On the Protection of Citizens' Health," as reported by the ministry's press service.
During the inspection, more than 541 private medical organizations were covered. It was found that 246 of them, accounting for 45.5%, were operating without a valid license. Furthermore, among the 295 licensed institutions, 110 were found to have violations of licensing norms. These violations included providing medical services in areas not covered by the license, the absence of necessary certificates and relevant education among staff, as well as the involvement of individuals without medical education. There were also instances of non-compliance with sanitary and epidemiological norms, improper storage and use of unregistered medicines and medical devices, including substances subject to special control.
In connection with the identified violations, administrative measures were taken, with the total amount of imposed fines exceeding 20 million 740 thousand soms. As a result, the activities of 263 medical organizations were suspended, and materials regarding 246 cases of illegal medical activity were forwarded to law enforcement agencies for further consideration.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes that citizens' appeals to unlicensed medical institutions pose a serious threat to health and life, as services provided by non-professionals can lead to severe complications, including infections and incorrect execution of medical procedures, which can harm patients.
In this regard, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic strongly recommends that citizens and tourists seek services only from licensed medical institutions that have official permission to carry out medical activities. The presence of a license and a list of licensed institutions and the services they provide can be checked on the official website of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic in the section "Licensing of Medical and Pharmaceutical Services" at the link med.kg/lisenzirovanie.
