According to information provided by the city hall, the new tram line will connect the 12th microdistrict with the city center and will proceed further to the Osh market.
This project is in line with the General Development Plan for Bishkek, which is projected until 2050.
“The tram line will be laid along Aaly Tokombaev Avenue, starting from the 12th microdistrict and continuing along Kyiv Street to the Osh market,” noted representatives of the city administration.
In addition, the city authorities responded to residents' proposals regarding the creation of a tram route around the capital.
“The General Plan takes into account tram routes that will operate in areas with high passenger traffic, connecting key districts with the city center. In this regard, a tram line around the perimeter of the city will not be able to effectively meet passenger needs,” the city hall explained.
