In the Tyup District, 1.5-meter snowdrifts formed after the snowfall — road workers reported on the situation

In the territory of the Tyup district in the Issyk-Kul region, the snow height in some villages has reached an impressive 1.5 meters.

Adilet Kambarbek uulu, the head of the road maintenance enterprise No. 35, reported that work was carried out to clear snow drifts on the roads in the Jeti-Oguz district. In particular, this concerned the sections Shalba–Lipenka–Zhon-Bulak between the villages of Kabak and Lipenka, as well as between the villages of Lipenka–Ichke-Bulun–Kytai, where the snow reached a thickness of 30–40 cm. The road Jeti-Oguz–Koysary was also cleared and treated with inert materials on the section from 0 to 15 km.

In the Ak-Suu district, snow clearing work took place on the highway Balykchy–Ananievo–Karako (km 207–216), as well as on the road Karakol–Pristan on the section 0–11 km. Work was also carried out to eliminate snow drifts on the road Boz-Bulun–Kara-Jal, where in some places the snow cover reached 80 cm.

“In addition, the roads of the Tyup district were temporarily transferred for maintenance. From January 16 to 18, 2026, a continuous snowstorm was observed on the highway Mikhailovka–Nikolaevka–Toktoyan–Sary-Tologoy. Snow clearing continues around the clock, and in some places the height of snow drifts reaches up to 1.5 meters. A total of 13 km of the highway Dolon–Kosh-Dobo–Sary-Dobo–Min-Bulak–Aral and 7 km of the section Kara-Suu–Tasma–Chong-Toguzbay have also been cleared,” he added.
