Considering the complicated epizootic situation in several regions of Russia, the Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan has gradually introduced temporary restrictions on the import and transit of live animals, livestock products, as well as feeds and feed additives that have not undergone thermal treatment, in order to ensure epizootic welfare in the country.
Veterinary control posts at the border with Russia are operating in an enhanced mode — all cargoes are subjected to thorough inspection, and in case of violations, they are returned to the sender.
In the Novosibirsk region of Russia, a quarantine for rabies and pasteurellosis has been introduced in five districts since the beginning of 2026. As reported by the Minister of Agriculture of the region, Andrey Shindelov, the latest cases of the disease were recorded in early March, and after sanitary measures were taken, no new outbreaks have been detected. According to media reports, farmers are having their domestic animals confiscated and destroyed.
Earlier, the chief specialist of the Department for the Control of Anti-Epizootic Measures of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, Dayirkul Satkynov, confirmed that the epizootic situation in Kyrgyzstan remains under control. At the same time, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Kubanychbek Samakov mentioned a critical situation with foot-and-mouth disease in the Naryn and At-Bashy districts.
