Due to the increase in seasonal viral infections, the authorities of Toguz-Toro have suspended the operations of state educational institutions. This was reported by Shaiyrbek Ergeshov, head of the methodological center for education in the Jalal-Abad region.

He explained that according to sanitary regulations, if the attendance level in an educational institution falls below 30% of the total number of students, such an institution is subject to temporary closure and quarantine.

“As a result of the increase in illness, some educational institutions in the region have switched to distance learning. In particular, four kindergartens have been closed in Kara-Kul, while in Toguz-Toro, 12 schools and 14 kindergartens have been closed. The quarantine will remain in effect until December 15. In other districts and cities, the situation remains stable and is being monitored by medical services,” added Sh. Ergeshov.

Parikan Eshenkulova, head of the health strengthening department at the Disease Prevention and Epidemiological Surveillance Center of the Jalal-Abad region, noted that last week there was a peak in illness.

“From November 28 to December 4, 3,055 new cases of infections were registered in the region. The majority of the sick are children under 14 years old. For comparison, during the same period last year, only 472 cases were recorded. This is a 6.5% increase compared to last year,” reported P. Eshenkulova.

She also added that influenza and ARVI viruses are transmitted through airborne droplets, and the high concentration of children in educational institutions contributes to the rapid spread of infections. In this regard, the specialist urged the population to wear masks and adhere to hygiene standards, which significantly reduces the risk of infection.
