“Investment in knowledge and training of personnel for work in new conditions is necessary”
Today, October 24, at a meeting of the National Council for the Development of Blockchain Technologies and Virtual Assets, President Sadyr Japarov spoke. This was reported by the press service of the president's administration.
In his address, Japarov emphasized that the digital transformation of financial systems is one of the main directions of global development. The number of countries developing strategies for regulating virtual assets, implementing central bank digital currencies, and creating tokens and stablecoins backed by real assets is increasing.
“Kyrgyzstan is one of the few countries in the region where a law on virtual assets has already been adopted and a consistent state policy in this area has been formed. The market for virtual assets is actively developing in the country, the number of licensed participants is growing, and the regulatory framework is being strengthened, with new infrastructure initiatives emerging,” the president noted.
According to him, Kyrgyzstan ranks 19th in the global index of cryptocurrency adoption and is confidently becoming a leader in Central Asia.
“This indicates a high level of acceptance of digital solutions by society. At the same time, it imposes serious responsibility on us. The establishment of the National Council was a logical step in the context of the need to make balanced and relevant decisions. Within the Council, the resources of government agencies, experts, and international partners are combined. The participation of global specialists, such as Binance crypto ecosystem founder Changpeng Zhao, provides access to advanced regulatory and technological practices,” Japarov added.
He also emphasized that the key priorities should be increasing digital and financial literacy, as well as training specialists.
“It is necessary to invest in knowledge and form personnel capable of working in new conditions. It is important that innovations develop in an environment of transparency, clear rules, and reliable infrastructure. Only by combining human potential, effective regulation, and a technological base can we ensure the sustainability of the digital ecosystem and trust from citizens, businesses, and international partners,” the president noted.
Furthermore, he added that Kyrgyzstan is among those countries that not only adapt to changes in the global financial architecture but also strive to create their own significant model of a digital economy in the region.
“Our country has unique advantages that create a solid foundation for leadership: a flexible institutional environment, talented and motivated youth, access to clean energy, as well as active digitalization of public services and infrastructure. All these factors make it possible to transform Kyrgyzstan into a regional hub for virtual assets and Web3 technologies,” Japarov concluded.
Achieving this goal requires a systematic approach, balanced decisions, and strategic coordination. The National Council plays an important role as a platform for integrating expert knowledge, international experience, and political will. It is necessary to maintain the established pace - to act consistently and transparently, relying on international experience, responsibility, and partnership,” the president concluded.
