On November 3, an agreement was signed between the governments of Switzerland and Kyrgyzstan to launch the project "Permitting System for Water Use in the Kyrgyz Republic." This was reported by the press service of the Swiss embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the agreement, Switzerland will allocate funds for the implementation of the project, which aims at the sustainable and efficient use of water resources in the country. This will be carried out within the framework of the recently adopted Water Code, where the permitting system is designated as an important tool for regulating water resources.

The allocated funds will be directed towards the creation of a permitting system for water use. This will allow water management authorities to establish mandatory norms and standards, as well as to monitor compliance by water resource users, which in turn will ensure more effective water accounting.
