The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan held a presentation of the cooperation program with Switzerland covering the period from 2026 to 2029, which will be implemented with the support of the Swiss side.

The presentation was conducted under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Meder Abakirov, as reported by the ministry's press service.

During the event, Swiss Ambassador Sirocco Messerli presented the main directions of the program, focusing on key aspects that will be developed within the framework of cooperation.

The program encompasses projects in the areas of sustainable economic growth, governance, water supply resources, energy, and adaptation to the consequences of climate change, as well as other priority areas.

During the discussions, participants exchanged ideas and reviewed proposals from Kyrgyz government agencies that align with the National Development Program for 2030.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Meder Abakirov noted that Switzerland is an important Western partner for Kyrgyzstan and expressed gratitude for the ongoing support, emphasizing that new projects will improve the living conditions of the population and strengthen bilateral ties between the countries.

It is worth noting that program cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland began in 2013. Previous cooperation strategies were implemented for the periods 2013–2016 and 2017–2021, and the program for 2022–2025 is currently concluding.
