Prose Writer Nina Platonova

Prose writer N. Platonova was born in Tbilisi in a family of a military journalist and a political worker of the Red Army.
In 1945, she graduated from high school in Saratov, and in 1950— from the historical faculty of Saratov State University.
Since 1950, she collaborated with the youth newspaper "Young Stalinist" (Saratov) and worked as a freelance contributor for the ParGolovo district committee of the Komsomol near Leningrad.
Since 1955, she has lived in Frunze. From that moment on, she collaborated with the newspaper "Komsomolets of Kyrgyzstan" and the magazine "Kyrgyzstan Ayalдары."
She has been published since 1951, primarily writing for children and youth. Her first stories were published in the children's magazine "Ogonki" and in the almanac "Novaya Volga," which were published in Saratov.
In 1957, she published a collection of stories "Svetlyachok" for younger school-age children. She is the author of the book "This Book is About a Poet," which tells readers about the poetry of V. V. Mayakovsky, as well as several novellas and short stories.
She has been a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1971.
