From March 25 to 26, two key global events aimed at the development of mountainous territories took place in Andorra: the World Congress on Snow, Mountain, and Wellness Tourism and the Seventh Meeting of the Mountain Partnership.

A delegation from Kyrgyzstan was presented at these forums, led by the special representative of the president on mountain issues, Dinara Kemelova.

According to the president's press service, the Congress focused on finding harmony between innovative development, sustainability, and the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of mountain regions. Participants, including representatives of governments, experts, and members of the mountain industry, discussed ways to develop sustainable tourism.

During a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Principality of Andorra, Xavier Espot Samora, Dinara Kemelova conveyed a message from President Sadyr Japarov, which included an invitation to participate in the second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek+25" in 2027 and a proposal for further deepening cooperation between the two mountainous states in promoting the mountain agenda on the international stage.

Additionally, at the event, Kemelova held talks with the Secretary-General of the "UN Tourism" Organization, Sheikha Al Nuwais. The discussions addressed issues of supporting mountain communities and promoting tourism, including the development of cultural and historical sites.

Dinara Kemelova emphasized the importance of unlocking the potential of Kyrgyzstan's mountain regions, highlighting the historical sites of the Great Silk Road, the need to create infrastructure to popularize the Battle of Talas, and other cultural attractions in mountainous areas. Topics such as ecotourism, agritourism, geoparks, and training and capacity building for mountain communities were also discussed.

Bilateral negotiations are taking place at the Mountain Partnership forum with official representatives from Andorra, Germany, Switzerland, Montenegro, Italy, as well as participants from UNEP and OSCE. The aim of these meetings is to develop bilateral and multilateral cooperation, gain support for Kyrgyzstan's mountain initiatives, and actively engage foreign states, international organizations, and experts in preparing for the "Bishkek+25" summit.

In particular, discussions with representatives from Germany focused on the prospects for protecting mountain ecosystems and international cooperation within climate and financial platforms. During a meeting with Arnold Kreilhub, the director of the European Regional Office of the UN Environment Program, practical aspects of involving UNEP in the preparation for the Bishkek summit, promoting environmental projects such as the conservation of the snow leopard, as well as protecting mountain ecosystems and promoting mountain products were considered.
