The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic approved a comprehensive development plan until 2030
The recently signed document by the head of the Cabinet, Adylbek Kasymaliev, includes 900 specific steps aimed at significant transformation of both the economy and the social sphere in Kyrgyzstan.
The authorities are focused on achieving a qualitative leap in the country's development. According to the established goals, by 2030, the average annual GDP growth is expected to reach 8%, and the total economy volume will reach 30 billion dollars. GDP per capita is expected to rise to 4,500 dollars. The Republic also aims to be among the top 30 countries that successfully implement the Sustainable Development Goals and to improve its position in the Human Development Index.
The plan focuses on four key strategic areas. The first area is related to industrialization, including the establishment of a National Industrial Development Fund, the launch of a network of technoparks, and the introduction of preferential lending for energy-efficient production. The second area aims to transform Kyrgyzstan into a regional hub, with key projects including the implementation of the "China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan" railway, the opening of new border crossing points such as "Bedel," and the modernization of transport routes to the borders with China and Kazakhstan.
The third area covers the agricultural sector and tourism, with goals to increase organic farming areas to 202,000 hectares, build class "A" agrologistics centers, and attract international hotel chains for the development of ecotourism and active recreation. The fourth area is related to green energy, which includes significant construction and renovation of hydropower plants, such as the Kambarata HPP-1 and the Upper Naryn cascade, as well as the laying of new high-voltage power lines.
In addition, the plan includes reforms in public administration, digitalization, anti-corruption measures, as well as the development of educational and medical systems. The successful implementation of all points of the plan will become the foundation for long-term sustainability and the well-being of the citizens of Kyrgyzstan by the beginning of the next decade.
