The government of Kyrgyzstan has approved a new temporary procedure that introduces electronic auctions for obtaining rights to subsoil use. This step is part of the presidential decree on reforming the mining industry and aims to combat corruption in the distribution of mineral resources.

Licenses for subsoil development will now be granted exclusively through an electronic system. The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision intends to launch a pilot project in the near future and will monitor its results until September 30, 2026.

Upon completion of the testing period, the ministry will prepare a draft permanent regulatory act, which will be submitted to the presidential administration and will enshrine electronic auctions in national legislation.

This resolution will come into force 15 days after its signing.
