46-year-old Tariel Sagaziev, who works as a senior inspector in the public safety service of the Talas region's Internal Affairs Department, hails from the village of Kök-Say, located in the Aitmatov district.

“My career in the police started in 2007 when I was 28 years old. After graduating from school, I went to Bishkek to prepare documents for admission to an educational institution to become a police officer. However, I had to return to my native village due to family circumstances, which was quite disappointing. At that time, I started doing business,” he recalls.

Over time, Tariel obtained a higher legal education and in 2007 completed a three-month course at the Republican Training Center named after Major General of Police Zh. Shabirov. “It was the first time I put on a police uniform. I was filled with pride and excitement as I looked at myself in the mirror. At first, I worked in the patrol service, and then I moved to investigations,” Sagaziev shares.

He also shared some memorable cases from his practice: “During the revolution in 2010, we managed to apprehend a young man who was wanted. It was a significant event for us.

A few years ago in the Bakai-Ata district, we searched for over a week for a man working at a mining site who went missing after his shift. I still remember how we froze in the mountains during the search. Ultimately, we found his body when the snow began to melt — a kilometer from his workplace. It is presumed that he fell asleep and froze to death, as there were no signs of violent death on his body. We considered various versions regarding the causes of his death, including work-related ones.

There was also a case in the city of Talas when our officer noticed a suspicious guy near a transformer next to an apartment building. He immediately reported to us and began to keep an eye on him. Later, we learned that this young man was robbing a computer club, taking equipment from there. When we arrived at the scene, he tried to run away, but we caught him. The club owner was shocked when he learned about the incident the next morning and sincerely thanked us. It turned out that the windows in the club were old, and the thief got in through them.”

Tariel, along with his wife, is raising two daughters and a son, who is currently studying at university. One of the daughters also plans to connect her life with the police. The family lives in the city of Talas.
