As a result of the aforementioned incident, on August 12, 2025, more than 90 tons of fish were found dead in the "Novo" pool in the Issyk-Ata district.
The police have initiated a criminal case based on signs of a crime under Article 304 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, as reported by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui region.
As part of the investigation, which began on November 7, 2025, the Investigative Service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui region is conducting a series of activities aimed at thoroughly and objectively clarifying all the circumstances of the event. During the inspection, cooperation is being carried out with agencies responsible for environmental safety, as well as veterinary and sanitary control and other relevant departments.
The Investigative Service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui region states its intention to conduct the investigation within the legally established timeframes, adhering to the principles of legality, objectivity, and inevitability of punishment. The progress of the pre-trial proceedings will be under constant control.
Based on the results of the investigation, a decision will be made in accordance with current legislation.
