In Kyrgyzstan, migration rules have been updated for citizens of 55 countries

According to information from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, as of December 31, 2025, decree No. 855 came into effect, which amended the rules for the stay of foreign citizens in the country. These changes are aimed at optimizing migration processes and increasing transparency of conditions for foreigners, as well as aligning legislation with the state migration policy.

Now citizens of 55 countries can stay in Kyrgyzstan without a visa for up to 30 days within each 60-day period from the date of their entry, without requiring additional permits.

The list of these countries includes:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vatican, United Kingdom, Hungary, Germany, Netherlands, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Canada, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, USA, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia, Brunei, Japan, Montenegro, Andorra, Argentina, Brazil, San Marino, Chile, Albania, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Israel, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Romania, Thailand, and Mexico.

Upon expiration of the established period, foreigners must either leave the country or obtain the necessary permits, such as a visa or residence permit, in accordance with the legislation of Kyrgyzstan.

It should be noted that the new rules do not affect the conditions of international agreements and do not apply to those who come to Kyrgyzstan for work, study, or other activities requiring special permits.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges foreigners and host parties to pay close attention to the new requirements of migration legislation.
