In Shopokov, an inspection was conducted at the metal smelting plant OsOO "LAHORE STEEL MILLS," where foreign workers are employed. This was reported to the Turmush correspondent by the press service of the president's representative in the Chui region.

According to the agency, the inspection was initiated in response to complaints from local residents regarding the operation of the enterprise. The presidential representative in the Chui region, Azamat Osmonov, visited the plant to assess the situation on-site.

The main reason for Osmonov's visit was the numerous appeals from residents expressing concern about the plant's impact on the environment and public health. Citizens noted that there has been smoke and a deterioration of the ecological situation in the area for a long time.

During the inspection, the representative familiarized himself with the metal processing and rebar production processes. He also examined the energy sources, raw materials used, and the condition of the production facilities. Special attention was paid to compliance with environmental, sanitary, and technical standards, as well as the presence of purification equipment for monitoring harmful emissions and the plant's compliance with Kyrgyzstan's legislation.

Azamat Osmonov emphasized that issues of ecology and public health are a priority. He instructed the relevant state bodies, including environmental and sanitary services, to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the plant, assess its activities from a legal and environmental perspective, and take necessary measures within the framework of the legislation.

“After the inspection, an assessment will be made of the actions or inactions of the responsible authorities, and decisions will be made based on the identified facts. The oversight of the implementation of these instructions and the results of the inspections will remain with the president's representative in the Chui region,” the official statement said.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the director of OsOO "LAHORE STEEL MILLS" is Nazir Asim Ahmad Nazir, and the founders are Iqbal Javed, Hussain Sarfraz, and Majid Amir, all of whom are citizens of Pakistan. The main activity of the company is related to metal processing and coating.

The plant was registered on May 27, 2011, and underwent re-registration on October 24 of the same year. Investors, who are citizens of Pakistan, began construction of the plant on a 4.2-hectare site that previously belonged to a sugar factory.
