The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic informs about the tightening of visa requirements by the USA for Kyrgyz citizens
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic informs that the USA has introduced new conditions for obtaining non-immigrant visas of categories B-1/B-2, intended for business and tourism.
According to official information from the U.S. Department of State, starting from January 21, 2026, it will be mandatory for citizens of Kyrgyzstan to pay a financial deposit, which will range from 5,000 to 15,000 US dollars. The specific amount will be determined by the consular officer during the interview.
The application procedure is as follows: after the consul's indication, the applicant will need to fill out Form I-352 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and confirm agreement to the deposit conditions through the Pay.gov platform.
Key points:
The deposit does not guarantee the issuance of a visa.
If a citizen violates the terms of their stay in the USA or changes their immigration status, the deposit will not be refunded.
These new rules apply only to applications submitted after the changes come into effect.
As for entry and exit restrictions, individuals who receive a visa with a deposit will only be able to cross the U.S. border through the following airports:
Logan International Airport, Boston (BOS);
John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York (JFK);
Dulles International Airport, Washington (IAD).
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in denial of entry or visa cancellation.
According to the American side, the inclusion of Kyrgyzstan in this list is due to a high level of visa regime violations by citizens of the republic. In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic strongly recommends that citizens familiarize themselves with the updated requirements in advance and strictly adhere to U.S. immigration legislation to avoid negative consequences.
