Today, January 19, the State Institution "Kyzmat" announced that the organization does not initiate or propose changes to the personal identification number (PIN) in the context of gender change.

At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh held on January 19, a draft law proposed by the Ministry of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies was discussed. It addresses issues related to the modification and assignment of PINs in cases of technical errors, duplication, as well as incorrect indication of gender or date of birth data and other situations provided for by law.

Deputy Director of the State Institution "Kyzmat" Ernes Dosaliev provided an example ("a man changed his gender") during the discussion, which was hypothetical in nature and was used to illustrate potential legal conflicts, without reflecting the practices of the organization or its initiatives, as stated in the clarification.

The main principle of the draft law is that "one person - one PIN," as well as the need to ensure the accuracy of data in state information systems. The State Institution "Kyzmat" calls for consideration of the official position of the institution and to avoid misinterpretations.
