In the pediatric musculoskeletal system, unique characteristics are observed: bones have greater elasticity, and the periosteum is denser. This allows a child to maintain limb mobility even in the case of a fracture. This was reported on the air of "Birinchi Radio" by Arthur Satyilganov, a trauma surgeon and head of the pediatric surgery department at KGMA.

As Satyilganov noted, due to the strong periosteum, a fracture may not be accompanied by displacement, which makes clinical manifestations less pronounced. In case of suspicion of a fracture, it is important for parents to consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Interestingly, during the winter period, the number of injuries in children is lower than in the summer months. However, in cold weather, children are more likely to get injured while riding on inflatable tubes in the mountains. In such situations, adults should closely monitor the child, hold them securely, and when falling, try to soften the impact, avoiding a fall at a right angle.

Satyilganov warned that the most dangerous means of transportation in winter are metal sleds. He advises using soft pads on the tubes and securing the handles to ensure safety. Additionally, it is important to maintain order and not overload the tube.

When providing first aid for injuries, several important points should be remembered:

- If there is bleeding, it is important to stop it using available means;

- A tourniquet should be applied above the injury site;

- Indicate the time the tourniquet was applied;

- Pain relief can be administered.
It is not recommended to attempt to reduce dislocations or fractures on your own, as an inexperienced person may cause additional damage. If a limb appears deformed, it should be immobilized and transported in that position to a medical facility.

The doctor also noted that there has been an increase in injuries among children resulting from road traffic accidents involving scooters and electric scooters. Teenagers often cross roads without paying attention to approaching vehicles, which increases the risk of accidents.
