The chief physician of the Capital Emergency Medical Center, Iskender Shayahemtov, reported that there has been a significant decrease in the shortage of emergency medical doctors in Bishkek—almost threefold.

According to Shayahemtov, a presidential decree was issued in 2025 to increase the salaries of emergency medical personnel in Bishkek and Osh, as well as surgeons, pediatricians, and specialists working in remote areas.

“Previously, out of 210 medical vacancies, 98 remained unfilled, but after the salary increase of 20,000 soms, this number has decreased to 32. This is a very encouraging result—the shortage of doctors has significantly reduced,” he noted.

Additionally, Shayahemtov added that another salary increase for all medical workers in the country is planned for April 1, amounting to 100%.
